Navigating the sea of the knowledge economy, the
cultivation of international and national cannot be
overemphasized. In the competitive future society,
knowledge is the capital of life. On the other hand, to
promote equity in helping children in remote area,
bridging digital divide is the global consensus and should
be accomplished in no time.
It is because technology
is the vehicle that Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)
has also been focused on turning digital divide into
digital opportunities. The program of Youth Knowledge
Network is developed in hope of assisting global partners
to bridge the digital divide. At the time a model of cyber
team was designed by adopting the structured instruction
on the learning management system as well as web-based
course through forming a cyber team. That is, on the basis
of a web-based platform, global youth are encouraged to
discuss through forums or on-line chatting.
I. Principles
1. We
will construct youth-oriented knowledge network to assist
people in need of knowledge powered survival skills..
2. We will facilitate opportunities between
schools and local community to develop the shared learning
content.
3. We will enhance collaboration among
schools and coordinate the liveware (knowledge and life
experience) of global human network.
II.
Goals
1. We want to
assist to bridge the digital divide.
2. We want to
build the wisdom bank for multi-cultural society.
3. We want to become a convergent agent of
community volunteer system for the younger generation and
community people.
4. We
will initiate environmental protection and cultural programs
to present Taiwan vision.
5. We want to enhance the opportunity for
teachers, students and enthusiastic people in Taiwan to join
international activities and increase Taiwan mobility.
